Casiokids Finn Bikkjen [Live] from Karen Piper on Vimeo.
I've blogged about Casiokids before after seeing them supporting Of Montreal a few months back. They are pretty much one of the best new bands I've heard in quite some time and despite not being able to understand what they are singing make me want to happy dance a lot. I can't wait for a proper album to arrive from them, hopeully in the not too distant future. Until then the excellent single 'Fot i Hose' and a few songs before their signing to Moshi Moshi are available now via the net.
The song in the video above is called 'Finn Bikkjen' and it was perfomed at Po Na Na festival. They will be touring the UK quite a this month after playing the Great Escape all this weekend so I highly recommend checking them out if you can.

"Bikkjen, min aller beste venn! Eg skal aldri miste deg igjen!" That means "doggy, my dearest friend, I'll never lose you again". Then he offers chocolate and cake as a reward for finding it. I just heard it on the radio.. I thought the guy was some kind of acid head :)
ReplyDeleteFinn bikkjen means find the dog... The lyrics would be somewhat like this:
ReplyDelete“The dog, my very best friend
I will never lose you again
Where is the dog, where is the dog
Where is the dog, I gotta find the dog
Because the one who finds the dog
Gets the best prize
Where is the dog, where is the dog
Mum has hid it, dad takes the time
And if you don’t find the dog
there won’t be a prize
and no chocolate
no cake
Hotter
Colder
It is hard enough as it is
Higher, lower
Bird, fish or turtle
It is hard to find it
When it is so small
Have you looked behind the plant
And in the bottom drawer
The dog, my very best friend
I will never lose you again
The dog, my very best friend
I will never lose you again
The dog, my very best friend
I will never lose you again”
